Vigorous Acid Gas Treatment

Gasification processes produces various acidic gasses such as carbon sulfide and carbon dioxide, which is required to remove as they causes serious health hazards. Worldwide environment regulation and norms make its mandatory and obligatory for all companies to take care of ecosystem, which necessities the use of a brilliant acid gas treatment method which prove both economical and eco friendly.

Methods

Different methods are used for removing harmful gasses, which are produced during various processes. The foremost method is removing gasses with the help of an absorber, almost all oil and petro chemical industries uses this method in which liquid and gas comes in contact with each other; this process is implemented in an absorption tower. However as the acids present in the gasses vary in certain degree, therefore different solvent are used for removal.

Chemical solvents are used when the acidic gasses present are less than 1 ppm, solvents such as Rectisol and Selexol are used to remove sulfur for chemical synthesis application.  In power generation applications, Methyl Diethanolamine is used, in chemical and physical processes the Syngas is washed with solvent which removes H2S.

In this process of acid gas treatment clean gas is sent downstream for processing, solvent rich acid gas is send to the bottom of the tower, where it is sent to the regenerator. H2s exits from the top of the regenerator and send to sulfur recovery system, which produces a byproduct of sulfur. The solvent is then cooled and then recycled back to start the abortion process again.

Procedure of Flue Gas Treatment

Industries and power plants produce distinguished gasses, during certain chemical processes and waste disposal, which contain toxic gasses such as sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid, in addition to it also contains various heavy metals. These gasses are often termed as flue gas; various methods are used in order to remove dangerous pollutants from this. After proper treatment it is exhausted out of the plant; however it stills contains several matters in small volume. Flue gas treatment is mandatory as it contains harmful gasses; majority of nations are strictly following eco friendly norms, which are specially designed for protecting environment against harmful gasses. Therefore it’s compulsory to treat it before draining outside, taking into consideration all the necessary standards.

Certain chemical processes remove pollutants from it, in accordance with scrubbers. High catalytic reaction is used for removing nitrogen oxide from it, with relevant modification in combustion process one can also eradicate nitrogen by disallowing its formation. Fine particles are removed by precipitator that separated fine particles from it.  In dry Flue gas treatment a chemical is injected in to the gas for removal of harmful gasses, the residue obtained is further removed by precipitator. This method is economical and flexible with temperature and it is not complex.

Wet process effectively eradicate toxic elements from flue gas, mostly lime and sodium bicarbonate is used in both dry and wet processes, once the gas is cleaned then it is expelled outside.
