Gas processing is a method of separating impurities, fluids and hydrocarbon from raw gas. Natural gas has enormous usage. It is used as fuel in various commercial and industrial applications. Treatment of natural gas is a gradual process. Natural gas is obtained either from oil fields or from non oil fields. It’s sometimes found in coal fields. Not all impurities present in natural gas are worthless some have good economic cost. These are processed separately and sold.
Crude gas contains water and condensate which is removed before transporting it to processing plant. On reaching processing plant initial purification disembarks. Acidic gasses such as hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide are removed by Amine treatment. Currently Polymeric membranes are used to separate impurities from raw gas.
Crude gas obtained after gas processing has to meet certain standard dispose by distinguished companies. Sulfuric acid and elemental sulfur are devised from the residual hydrogen and CO2 in sulfur recovery unit .The next process after removal of acidic gasses is the separation of water vapors. This is rendered either by using regeneration process or by glycol dehydration. Mercury and nitrogen is removed afterwards by distillation process.
Natural gas liquids are recovered after separating mercury and nitrogen. NGL is delivered to several gas pipeline and the charges are incurred according to the quality of NGL delivered. The recovered gas liquids are then routed to fractional train where propane, butane and ethane are produced. These gases are sweetened through distinguished sweetened units. The final product then formed is delivered to end users.
